About Us



Hope of Christ Haiti





We are a non profit organization based in the United States. This group was started in 2025 by Mark Hewitt, to gather financial support, resources, and prayers to be passed on to trusted non profit charities in Haiti. In short, we try to make the giving process easier for those who want to help. Haiti is a difficult place to live, and difficult to even send help. We are currently filing paperwork to become a certified 501c3 organization.



Founder: Mark Hewitt





Mark is a native of Grand Forks, ND and a pilot by profession. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was “born again.” He takes a literal interpretation of the Bible, and has a heartfelt desire to help the less fortunate of this world and to share the good news and compassion of Jesus Christ.

Board member: John Novak





I currently live in the borough of Green Tea, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a licensed professional Engineer, but more important I am saved by Jesus. I've spent 3 terms on Borough Council 12 years, and was our borough representative for the Council of Governments. I have a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I have helped to start 3 churches in the Pittsburgh area. I have served as an elder and have lead bible studies. I have also run a women's softball team for 12 years for our community.



A trusted charity: definition





A trusted charity is a non-profit, Protestant, Hatian based charity, which provides it’s services in the name of Jesus, to needy souls in Haiti. Such charities are completely separate from HOCH, and have been verified by documentation and personal visits. While we make efforts to help such charities, we have no ability to monitor their daily activities, nor do we wish too. They are responsible for their own affairs, and we simply try to support their efforts. If any improper activities are discovered, the board will act appropriately, up to cutting off support, but HOCH is not in any way legally responsible for their actions.
